Welcome
Founded in 1880, Silloth Rugby Club has
provided facilities, food and drink, and more importantly - the
chance for many would-be Super-Stars to spend many a happy hour
running after that odd shaped ball. We have been lucky to produce
some very talented players, especially the brilliant Jim Brough. Jim
played rugby for England during 1924/1925. He also played
professional Rugby League for Leeds and many other renowned teams.
He was a true Silloth legend.
 At
present we have one senior team playing in the Cumbria League and
the second division of the Cumbrian Trophy Competition. We also have
four junior teams, which bodes well for the future of rugby in this
small Cumbrian town. Our
clubhouse is available for weddings, parties, birthday and social
gatherings. There is a licensed bar with pool, darts, and Sky TV.
These facilities are all available to the public, please call in and
enjoy our hospitality.
Silloth
Rugby Club is always looking for new players, we welcome any player
of any standard. Our aim is enjoyment, involvement in a sporting day
out, a game of rugby and a bit of friendly banter. Call in and give
us a try. Please take time to
investigate this web site. You don't have to play rugby to be
involved in our club, there is always lots to do. So if you are
interested in getting involved with a local club with a wonderful
heritage, whether playing, watching, or even helping-out in any way,
please let us know.
Our next
venture is to erect a 250 seater stand for spectators, also new
training floodlights, enabling us to play night matches, junior
matches, etc. The local charity
shop S.O.S.C.S. very kindly provided the funding to build this web
site, for which we are very grateful. |
